I'm not sure if theres a name for it, but I feel like my labour and delivery has really effected my boyfriend. I think he found it REALLY traumatic. he feels really bad that he couldn't help me when I was in pain. I think he should talk to someone, just to get out how he feels and stuff and talk about how it was for him. am I just being over the top or do you ladies think the same thing?? maybe if he spoke to someone other than me, about how the experience was for him it may help him. what do you think?????

That's a lovely idea Emily! I think it really would help him xD Sometimes it is nice to talk to someone other than someone you are familiar or comfortable with etc :) I think it is sweet that he was so concerned about you :) but honestly there was nothing he could've really done to help ease the pain of birth. @emily.and.phoebe xx

I think men have no idea what it's like to give birth until they witness it and then it's a shock. before I went into labour my husband always told me 'it can't be that hard, people do it every day, the average labour is 2 hours' 😂 mine was 30 hours and horrendous. For at least 6 weeks he afterwards he acted like I was the most amazing person on the planet, like he was truly in awe of what I had done. I guess your boyfriend is still in shock. I had post traumatic shock after my labour. i still suffer with flashbacks now. I think men can get it too, it's normally only in the case of really bad labours but if your boyfriend didn't know what to expect etc then it could be affecting him. speak to your health visitor on his behalf. She's there for the family. If not his gp

My OH keeps saying how amazing I am when he is telling people about my labour. It's sweet! I also found out that he nearly fainted twice whilst I was in theatre! Ha! Defo talk to your HV as he might not want to go to his gp straight away xx

I can see how it would effect him. like I mean it went from being completely normal to me being rushed into theatre screaming and everything! he said he never wants to see me like that again, hes said he can't stop thinking about and it just keeps replaying in his head, and it makes him really upset. some things I said in labour could have been scary for him to hear and stuff, like I thought I was dying at the time. I will definately mention him talking to someone but you know what men are like, they prefer to not bother and suffer with things @jade_17 @tuftyturtle @winterbaby95

If he is younger it probably did affect him! My OH is 30 and he still freaked out! Haha! Xx

we both turned 18 just before she was born. I would probably say we are sorta young. @jade_17. I just don't want it to be something that effects him for the rest of his life. I jist dunno how I'm gonna convince him to talk to someone
