so anyone in this boat?? went to the Dr Mon and they found out im 4cm dilated...so they sent me to the hospital and found out I wasn't in active labor.... so they sent me home.....I'm just nervous and scared that I may not realize when I'm in labor and wait to long to go to the hospital....I'm almost 36 weeks.....I just need some reassurance....I hope I realize labor pains and don't think they are braxton hicks.......sorry first time mommy here so I'm paranoid

Oh you'll know lol. Even if you don't realize it at first it'll be a lot more consistent than Braxton hicks, and then there's like a switch that goes off where you go from normal momma to crazy momma and you'll start crying or bite some bodies head off because they made a joke that would've been ok 10 minutes before. That's when it's time lol

When I was pregnant I was paranoid that I wouldn't know when I was having real contractions and of course everyone said "oh you'll know" but I kept thinking "I've never gone through it before" but I can say that as soon as I started having real contractions I realized everyone was right. The pains were so bad and just like @bria.k said, as soon as I would start to have a contraction my fiance would try to joke around with me and I would get so mad at him that I would tell him he was stupid and that I hated him and then as soon ands the contraction was over I would feel so bad and tell him I'm sorry and that I didn't mean it. So even as unsure as you are I promise you that you will know.
