You have to hold down the mic button and the emoji option will pop up
@preggie_usa, It's android version 5.0 but I don't know how to find the emoji keyboard version. And ok, let me take a screen shot.
@varduim, you can find the android info in your phone settings.

@preggie_usa, No, I haven't been able to since I got this phone. It's a S5. When I open the keyboard to type, I don't see the icon for selecting emojis. I do on other apps, but for some reason not on preggie.
@varduim, can you post them on a post or comments? Where is the trouble only in private messages?

I don't know why mine don't. When I message, I don't even have the option to select smileys.
