it's cause she feels safe. newborns aren't used to the outside world.

I may sound mean, but just lay her down the same way every time. She will eventually get used to it. My kids don't and never will sleep on me or with me unless they're sick. No matter how many times I had to put my son in his bed when he would fight it, I'd do it. I never let them cry it out, though. My daughter is 4.5 months old and I just lay her down in her bed, even if she acts like she's not gonna go right to sleep if she wakes up in the middle of the night. If she talks, she talks and she eventually goes back to sleep. Lol. But that's just me and how I do it...

at a week old there's nothing wrong with it at all. she's use to being close and balled up and warm.
