Any mommies who had newborns with blocked tear ducts. My sons left eye gets constantly crusty. Doctor said its normal but just wondering how long it took for your babies to open the tear duct and the eye to stop getting so mucky?

My baby has one (runs in the family on his dads side) After he's six months old if its still a problem then we get referred to a specialist and they might have to put tubes in his eyes

It'll heal faster if you put breast milk in her eye.

No his is so bad I cant even touch it without washing my hands really good in case it gets infected, and it hurts him so bad touching it would make it worse

My sons eye is not red at all. Just crusty. He lets me massage it or clean it with no problem. I hope he doesn't have to have tubes put in. I'm sorry @tibi2696

Breast milk has great antibiotic properties. It can clear up eye infections and clogged tear ducts! It often works better than the eye drops or antibiotics that are prescribed.

my daughter had that issue and i took her to an eye doc and they said warm compress and then push your finger from the corner of the eye down the nose and its gunna suck cause baby will cry but if you keep doing it consistently it will help open the tear duct . it took two months for my daughters to fully open up
