You do have a choice, as long as your body allows you can have a vaginal delivery. Drs will tell you it's time to think about a c section if you aren't progressing like you should after you've been given pitocin. C sections aren't fun but when it comes to your baby's health and yours sometimes it's necessary
I had a c section last Tuesday! One thing that sucks is recovery 6-8 weeks (also depends on age & body) .. Another thing I have major Ocd and nesting bad can't do anything since I'm sore and my back hurts. Only thing that sucks. Only thing you feel is pressure and tugging . It's not that bad like I thought it would be.
do you mean like can you just ask for one? I had one after a 14 hour labor and the recovery is a little rough. I'm almost 6 weeks pp and all around it and the bottom of my stomach is numb. I get sharp pains all around it and from getting the spinal block my left hip and lower back go numb and tingly. the surgery its self wasn't bad but the recovery sucked
Most of the time doctors will only suggest c-section if they are seeing no progression. You do have the choice however the baby can not be out of the amniotic fluid still inside you for too long or else major problems start happening. Emergency c-section is when you or the baby are in distress and there is no way you will deliver on your own.
@amber.s95 is that one of the side effects of having a spinal block? I'm having a C section and I'm not sure if i should get an epidural or spinal tap.
@marmber, They didn't tell me but I think that it may just my sciatic nerve. It just seems to be worse after my c section. The spinal block was really fast. It did take the doctor long at all just a couple minutes and I was numb and they don't have to put a catheter in your back like they do with an epidural.
