So if I get this job Monday, and I'm 25 weeks pregnant, will I be able to take off for maternity leave in January? Or do you have to be there for so long before you can get maternity leave?

@no3lastone4me, you probably would get maternity leave because that's your right but with no pay. One of my colleagues who started the job in July and went on maternity leave in October did not get paid. And she's a RN.

You probably won't get paid leave, that's the situation I'm in! At my job you have to have a year in for paid leave, other wise you get unpaid job protection. But really none of us can give you a for sure answer you have to talk to them and ask about their fmla ect

I'm 28 weeks and just got hired in some where and they are already talking about my leave before I even asked. they know your pregnant they will understand the leave.

@no3lastone4me, you don't get paid for FMLA. I'm applying for FMLA once my maternity leave and vacation time is up. The only good thing for me with FMLA is that my benefit would be covered and paid for but no pay. Plan on being home total 4 months (8 weeks maternity and 8 weeks vacation and personal days combine) with pay plus my 1 or 2 months of FMLA.
