@kimberlyyyy, I had my first at 31 weeks, and was told not to get pregnant again. And if I do, that I'll deliver sooner! There is almost no chance I'll ever carry to term :(
@ashbabash18, I'm in the same situation! my daughter was born at 31 weeks also and i was told that if i do get pregnant again there is a very big chance of one or both of us not making it through :(
@lillys_mommy, same here! It's absolutely heartbreaking...especially when so many people are getting pregnant and having easy pregnancies...it kills me and it makes my baby fever 100000x worse! I'm grateful to have my beautiful baby girl though. What caused you to deliver early?
I haven't been told I shouldn't/couldn't try for another yet, but I'm pretty sure health wise I would be screwed. But I've heard the chance of having another preemie is higher after you already have one. 😪
@ashbabash18, severe preeclampsia which turned into HELLP syndrome..I went into labor and delivery in awful pain, found out my liver and kidneys were well on their way to failing,HELLP had destroyed over half of all my red blood cells, i had an emergency c section 2 hours after arriving, approximately 2 and half hours into 31 weeks
^^ same here. I didn't even know I had preeclampsia, and it went to severe, and then I developed HELLP syndrome and that's when they decided it was time to have an emergency c section. Not fun.
@kimberlyyyy, @lillys_mommy literally the same thing! But I started with preeclampsia December 27th, on hospitalized bed rest up until delivery trying to get me to at least 32 weeks but I delivered at 31+6 because my liver and kidneys were failing
@kimberlyyyy, @ashbabash18 i was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 30 weeks, spent 6 days in the hospital - they got my blood pressure managed with medicine and sent me home with a c section scheduled for 34 weeks on May 22nd, i was back 12 hours later with HELLP syndrome and she was born at 2:48 am May 23rd
I didn't even know I had high blood pressure. I got bored waiting for my mum to shop so I used one of those self check blood pressure machines at a drug store and my BP was high. I called the hospital and they didn't think it was a big deal so they said I could come in, but it might be better to call the oncall doctor. I called but it was the wrong number so I went into my local hospital (this was 9/8). They put an IV in, and I knew something was up. I expected to go home later that day. By 7am 9/9 they told me that they didn't want to deliver my baby because if they did, I would be stuck at that hospital and my baby would be flown to a bigger hospital 2 hours away, so I was flown 2 hours away where they threatened to take him out a few times. Their goal was to keep him in until 34 weeks (I was 28 weeks) and I thought I was gunna be at the hospital for 6 weeks. I was miserable because they were always testing my blood or hooking me up to everything. My baby didn't cooperate so i constantly had someone digging stuff into my belly to monitor the baby. Once they would get my blood pressure down I would start having symptoms of high blood pressure but they were happy my pressure went down (even though i didn't even know/didn't have symptoms of it). Then at 29 weeks exactly I was finally taken off the fetal monitors, and go figure that's the day HELLP syndrome creeped up. I thought I had heartburn. If hurt right in the middle of my chest. They kept asking me if it hurt on my right side and I was getting annoyed. No! It was the worst heartburn dead in the middle of my chest! It hurt so bad i tensed up and if I tried relaxing I would shake violently. The first heartburn stuff they gave me didn't do anything. They gave me the Gi cocktail and I threw up instantly (I never throw up). Later they gave me tums (threw up right before taking that too) and Benadryl (to help sleep), then I got woken up to be told that my liver was starting to fail and my blood was starting to clot so it was time to have an emergency c section. Had my baby at 29 weeks exactly on 9/15/15 @ashbabash18 @lillys_mommy
@kimberlyyyy, @lillys_mommy oh wow that's scary! I knew I'd end up having her early and I was miserable for weeks so I at least had time to prepare! Yours seemed pretty sudden! I was in and out all January, but I'd only be out for like 2 days before coming back. On my last admittance, my blood pressure was 190/140 something snd they thought id be delivering that night, but everything settled down and I made it 5 more days. My original goal was 36 weeks but my last goal ended up being 32 and I almost made it but I was a few hours shy! I had an emergency csection at 6:43 pm Jan 25th. On the 26th I would have been 32 weeks. I actually was diagnosed with hellps syndrome before I was officially diagnosed with preeclampsia. My liver enzymes were crazy since December. They knew I was becoming preeclamptic at that point though.
