For me it was hard to determine when cause I didn't wanna go and be sent home so I labored at home as long as possible. With my first, I went cause I started bleeding a bit during the contractions but they were not 5 minutes apart like how they say to time them. With the second, I had no idea, so after they got more intense (again, they were not consistently 5 minutes apart) I just decided to go and just see where I was. I was 7 cm when I got to hospital! For me it was really hard to determine. Maybe my pain tolerance was high or something. With the third, my water broke so I knew to go. I hope I make it this time and know when to go and don't have him in the car like those videos!! Lol

I stayed at home until I couldn't take the discomfort anymore. I took a shower, got ready, fed my son breakfast, cleaned up a bit. I'd rather be at home than stuck in a hospital bed. I just reminded myself to breath and find a focus point to concentrate on when I had contractions.

When I finally went it I was at a 4 almost 5. I have a high pain tolerance but home is better for me until it got to uncomfortable.

With my first i went waaay to early. They looked at me and where like yea-no go home. Told me to come back when they were less than 5 min apart. That was a loooooong 30 min drive to the hospital! I was damn near on the floor of the car by the time we got there

Yep I did with my 2nd. Waited all day bc they were not consistent. I was 4 cm by the time I was checked at the hospital. Its so different for everyone. So please be careful.

I had a nurse that day cause my doctor was on vacation and my doctor today was like "I saw the readings and was like holy crap! Who was in labor?!" So now I'm scared I'm not even gonna know when it's actually happening 😞

How far are you from hospital? it's really hard to say because everyone is so different but I'd like to assume that you would know bc it hurts pretty bad.

Pain tolerance varies for everyone and I honestly could talk through mine and was laughing until I was about 6 cm so just be cautious.

Just trust your body, you'll know.

Movement and laughing also comes up in those stress test FYI. I remember changing positions , moving from side to side and the monitor would record it. Real contractions come in a steady consistent pattern, and they last a good 30 sec or longer of tightness, discomfort, they peak and then slowly relax again. @ashleycoronel How close are you to your due date?

I also delivered with no pain meds or epidural. They say real active labor starts at about a 5 and especially after my water bag broke they started coming way faster and got stronger too as time went on.

@pretty_xoxo_giirl_, Yeah, they had me on a monitor to track his movements and then another monitor that was monitoring my contractions. & im due next Tuesday!
