Huge dilemma.. Want to go back home for thanksgiving but don't want to pay $1000 bucks to fly. I thought I could just have my shower then.. A little early but since they said this baby will come earlier than my last I figure it's better to go then. Plus I wanted my photographer in TX to do my maternity shoot although I will only be about 5 months.. Is that way too soon? I just don't want to have another 34 week baby or sooner and miss all the fun stuff trying to wait until the end. Plus it's a lot of money to fly my family out, do my shoot and throw a shower because I want to throw it myself. My mom & one of my best friends are offering but I like control and I also feel like they've done enough since I just got married in June... But that's also why I don't want to spend money at all.. We could just use the approx $2k on baby but I miss my family! My husband said lets drive but seriously 5 months pregnant on a 24 hour drive? Not likely. Then I'm high risk now so I am not even sure doc will say ok... Ahhhh the decisions 😣😣😣

it's a $1000 even if you book it now this far out?!? is that out of dfw or love field? I only ask bc there was a news story recently that love field had drastically cut ticket prices so maybe fly in there and save some money?

@kermi86, thanks it was Dfw and yep I checked last night it was $800 plus the bags we will check and the extra bags coming back but I'm going to check love field thank you!

I don't know about the high risk part, but I drove from Tx to Ca around 20 weeks and returned when I was 24 weeks. It's a long drive. (we did it in two days because we had a crying cat with us). It was doable. Just make sure if you do a drive that long that you get compression socks and elevate your feet at night.

I also have been looking at airfares for us for the holidays. The holidays are expensive, but the weeks in between may be a better option if you are flexible on that. Southwest usually has good fares and Virgin has been sending good deals.(both fly into DAL)
