So my husband and I got this cup for my son when he was about 13 months old. He's known how to drink out of regular cups since then but he will get super excited and spill it all over him, then get upset. Well today, FINALLY, he had the patience to actually learn how to drink out of this one. It took me, with him watching, put milk in his regular sippy cup, and putting apple juice in the other, and he got angry enough to keep trying to get apple juice out. He finally did it and he will not keep it out of his mouth. He's super happy about it too!
