(I think most people would've fed their babies food before a year lol!) I BF for almost a year and a half, though with no formula, if that's what ur asking...
yes, I am aware of that. I know it's a more common practice in like Australia. but it's super uncommon here and I wanted to know if anyone has done it @mamalamadingdong
Oh, well no... I have a good friend in Australia who is a major breastfeeding advocate and she's always said that it's more the norm there to BF longer (2-4 years for example), but I've never heard her mention anything about not feeding babies solids until after a year. I waited 6 months and I can even see the argument of waiting 8-9 months, but even from an evolutionary standpoint when teeth are growing in, all the science points to the necessities of introducing solids. What made you ask this question, have you read a study that says otherwise? I'm sincerely curious! :)
yea, I've read some articles on it. there are a lot of good benefits of it that I've read. I'll look on my laptop later if I have time and write down links and send them to you if youd like @mamalamadingdong
I just wrote to my Aussie friend and if she has any feedback that we haven't given you, I'll send it your way. I'm sure she could you offer you more experience than we can if it is more common there!
Sure! I always love reading research and learning more! My mind is ALWAYS open. I'm not doubting that there could be truth to your findings because America is pretty backwards in many ways when it comes to public health and child-rearing. Just message me the details. Thanks!

That's probably not healthy. I breastfeed for over a year but not exclusively. By 6 months they should be starting solids.

it's perfectly healthy. your milk has all the nutrients a,child needs for a year.

Exclusive breastfeeding means no food or water, only breast milk!

But by 6 months they should be starting on solids. I also didn't use formula if that's what you meant.
