Hoping for a vaginal birth just wondering what everyone thought was the best sort of pain relief

On my birth plan I've said I wanted gas and nothing else @winterbaby95. I'd of gone water birth but my partner didn't like the idea of it @daniellelc91 xx

gas and air is good cuz u r still completely in control . I got given pethidine with my first and it make me feel completely out of it and didn't take any pain away! xx

at the time u feel like u want everything possible but once u have done it everything is forgotten and with only gas and air it's out of ur system straight away. *good luck!* not long for u now xx

I only had gas & air and paracetamol I loved the gas & air but I'd say just see how you feel with the pain xx

Yeah I will do @shelby. I'm open to all options I'm just hoping I don't end up being a soft are and crying on for everything xx

I think I would have if my labour wasn't as fast as it was I didn't have time for anything else 😂 xx

Go with the flow, my 1st birth I was like all natural, started in the bath, then gas and air but it made me sick, then remifentanil (this was over 2 days) then epidural for emergency C Sections - not trying to give anyone a fright just reminding everyone to be open minded and don't feel like you have failed of you can't follow your Birth plan - the reward at the end is worth it :)

@aftermathofmoo, yeah just shows things can't always go to plan. As long as my baby is out and healthy I'll be happy xx

I just had gas and air for my previous labours but I was lucky cos they were quite quick. I plan for the same this time around but will be prepared to ask for more if needed. After my first I felt awful and was sick from gas and air (room spin and everything) so I went easier on it for my second. I think fear definitely plays a part in it cos I anticipated more pain which made me want more relief so nailed the gas n air haha xx
