What's this whole membrane scraping thing about? Never heard of it until this app and everyone is talking about getting one or just had one done... What's the propose? I know I can google but I enjoy talking and getting first hand experience from people on here :)

it's the dr breaking your water to help bring on labor faster.

Your doctor puts his fingers up there and like separates the amniotic sac... Lol. For me it was very painful but other women have said it's not too bad. It's supposed to help bring on the start or labor...allegedly.

^^@blueberrybrewing what she said. They don't break the water they just separate the water bag from the cervix

Theoretically, it's supposed to help bring on labor, but it's definitely not as extreme as actually being induced. I had my membrane stripped Saturday and still no signs of labor @rhonda.otero

I had my membranes stripped and the next morning I was in labor and delivered my babygirl that day 😊 I say go for it !!! def worth a try.
