I was at first absolutely against co sleeping. then after 3 days of him waking up every30 min we switched to co sleeping. we were both finally able to get some rest. I Dont let him near my husband though.
My baby sleeps in his bassinet at night. I occasionally take naps with him though. I'm afraid for the same thing. This shouldn't really be considered SIDS though. That would be suffocation. SIDS is sudden and has no reason. It seems that Doctors tell a lot of women that go through those situations it was caused by SIDS just so they won't feel it was their fault, which it wasn't and mostly accidental. Suffocation is not just sudden and co sleeping can cause suffocation.
I've slept with mine since he was born. I'm more afraid to leave him alone to sleep. He chokes in his sleep cause acid reflux and when he's with me I wake up if he starts coughing or even just moves. But it works for us not everyone!
Me! ✋ I slept with my daughter the first few nights but luckily my dad came in to check in us because I had rolled over on my side and leaned on my back and she was behind me underneath me. I could've very easily have squished her and that scared me enough to never do it again. people say they trust their selves to be able to do that. I don't tryst myself at all. Her being in a bassinet right beside my bed was more than enough for me to keep an eye on her. To each their own, but I won't even try to sleep next to this one.
I am sooooo afraid of co-sleeping. There for a while she wouldn't only sleep if she was in my arms. I hate to admit, I had like a week of actually sleeping with her. Thank God though..now she's sleeping long stretches in her bassinet. I do NOT want to be a co-sleeper.
