How many ladies think the membrane sweeping is actually effective? Also do you spot all day then? I…

I got mine around 9/10am and had blood when i wiped until like 5pm and then it was a brownish discharge for the rest of the night.

I'm fairly sure it's normal, by doctor told me to expect bleeding but I didn't think to ask how much lol but by the next morning everything was back to normal @gabrielle_d

@blueberrybrewing Can someone explain what a membrane sweeping is? I've heard about it, and I'm about to Google it, but I'd like to hear from a real mom what it is. Online they make it sound horrifically painful when it's done! Also, why is it necessary if the placenta is birthed properly?

My dr said it helps release the sac from the cervix to help the process move faster @trinaneveri it wasn't super painful for me. It didn't feel the best but I'm hoping it helps baby come faster

My doctor said it was the same... For me personally it was actually really painful, but I'm hoping it starts this labor process like yesterday lol @trinaneveri

I had mine done twice and my first wasn't born for another 4 days after the second one. If you are close it may push you into labor, but my son was very stubborn.
