Rant time. I have an awful mother in law. I've never been a fan of her. She's a liar and a tweaker. My husband was raised by his grandma and her other three kids were taken away from her after extreme neglect and abuse. So, I've never really liked her but my husband loves her. So, she only lives 2 hours away and can't even make it to the baby shower. We figured out a ride for her (she doesn't drive) and told her not to bring a gift, and have been trying to get her here but she just keeps making excuses. it just pains me because I see how much it hurts my husband that she won't make it. And I know that once the baby's here she won't even come visit. I just want my husband to be happy but this is really bringing him down. Anyone else have piece of cheap MILs?

My MIL didnt come to our wedding nor baby shower. And im pretty sure she wont come to visit when the baby is born. I've seen my husband so upset because he feels as if his mother doesnt love him. She left him and his brother (they used to live in guatemala) when he was 5 years old. And when he came here about 8 years ago she wont even let him stay at her house.

My own mother is the same way! She has seen jazzlyn three times since she's been born and she will be two on the 29th. She lives a mile away from us! We see her drive by the house everyday but won't stop to say hi. My husband hates his mother in law says all she does is run us all down. Now that this baby is due any day she's been sending me angry texts saying I need to get my tubes tied that I don't need any more children and that we were immature for not letting her be in the delivery room with us. My husband called her and bitched her out saying how she has only seen her granddaughter three times since she's been born, and has not once called to see how I was feeling or even seen how any of the Drs. Apts went. My mom said it was fucked up that we would let his mom in the delivery room with us when she's a raging alcoholic. Yes my mother in law loves the bottle but she has been there for me and for jazzlyn she's been more of a mother to me than my own mother has. And I feel my mother in law has every right to be in the delivery room if she wants to be since has been there for me.
