Breastfeeding experts I need some help! Well mothers too. My son had some respiratory issues at birth and was taken from me to the Nicu. Because of that I couldn't start breastfeeding he was on a tube feeding by mouth with formula while I was trying to pump and he was bottle fed in the Nicu because I was trying to get my milk supply going. Not being able to breastfeed right away made it hard and stressful later to try and get home to latch because he would get fussy and just want to eat. so I've been exclusively pumping. I give him breast milk sometimes but mostly formula. He had really bad gas this morning and had formula for his night time feedings. He was very gassy and uncomfortable and it made me cry to see him in pain like that. I'm sure it was the formula but to make sure I'm changing my diet completely and the pediatrician said to get an air vent bottle. We were using the mam bottles which were supposed to to that but I picked up some dr Browns to see if it helps. Should I try dr Browns with the formula and see if it's a bottle issue or switch his formula to the new one the pediatrician gave me to see.

I use the vent aire bottles by playtex with the liners and love them. The only thing with those are you have to make sure you push all the air out of the liner before feeding. I also switched my son to similar ISOMIL for the same reason. Since we switched he seems to be doing so much better! Maybe little one has a slight lactose intolerance? The isomil is a soy base instead of a milk base so maybe it'll help? Ask your doc :)

She gave some other formula but I'm not sure if it's the bottles or what?! I'm so lost.

I think its the formula. My son only breastfeeds but I did give him formula a couple of times and he got very gassy with it! He does use the Vent Aire bottle by playtex and has not had problems with that making him gassy

Well if you just made the formula switch that could be causing belly upset as well! The first few days after I switched Gabriel he was pretty fussy and gassy but now seems to be doing great!! Have you tried gas drops??

@des_a_rayy, I keep hearing about playtex vent aire. We just might have to try them. Did you adjust your diet breastfeeding?

Nope, and I live in NM so I eat hatch green chile every now and than hahah but for the most part no I just quit formula and eat healthy for yhe most part but I do occasionally have my days lol

@gabrielsmommy2015, we didn't make the switch yet. I went to the pediatrician today and they gave us I'm gig to try a different bottle first. Then if that doesn't work switch the formula continue to pump and give him the breastmilk minus the gassy foods with a clean diet
