so yesterday I asked my doctor when will he start checking my cervix (the only way I knew I was dilated from the beginning was because I went to l&d last week) and he said he doesn't check....honestly I was disappointed at first but now I'm just like oh well it'll just happen when it happens. it's not like knowing how much im dilated is gonna make her come any faster 💁 #patientlywaiting

my midwife doesn't check either, and at first I was confused by it, but now (after having my first with her there) I am glad she doesn't. I worked L&D, and I have seen so many women get so discouraged or end up with csections because they aren't progressing fast enough. not checking prevents that! and you can change from like 3 to 10 in no time! so it really means nothing!
