How do you ladies deal with having toys everywhere? Like I literally want to scream every time my son brings a toy in the living room!! I'm always telling him go out that away or not out here and my mom thinks I'm being to harsh! She always tells me " the house can't wait there's gonna be one day that you wish he still wanted to play with you in your living room and make a mess" and it makes me sad every time 😔 because she's totally right but good lord I just want my house spotless! Specially with a newborn coming in a few weeks!! Idk what to do I'm so torn 😩

I just think about my kid's and what they'll remember when they're older. They won't remember if the house was clean or if I was showered and dressed with my makeup done everyday, but they will remember playing, reading books & being with mom. ❤️ When the kids are grown and the house is spotless, she's right, you'll miss the day there were toys everywhere. Maybe just have a rule? 3 at a time and when he's done/when he wants a 4th one has to go away? That way it doesn't get overwhelming and he cleans up after himself?

maybe designate a small area for him to play with his toys in the living room with a basket for easy clean up? my daughter has a small animal shaped laundry basket we are using for toy management in the living room so she can play and not feel like she's isolated in the room away from everyone and when I feel good enough I can get on the floor and play with her but when she's done or I tell her it's time she knows everything must go back in the basket. hope that helps a little? 😊

i actually converted my living room into a kids play room with just one couch. who cares about visitors. i love watching my baby play and its not going to be like this forever.

but ofcouse its all organized in am ikea cubby, she also has a table and a huge train table which looks so pretty. u can get one of those foam play mats with the alphabet thats what i did in my bedrooom and she has square of foam play mat with her toys organized and thats her area.

I teach my kids to bring one toy out at a time and when they are done put it a way and they can get another one cause it will get out of hand. but I also agree with her because one day that day will be gone and you won't be able to get it back. kids really do grow up to fast. but I don't like a cluttered mess so maybe try just the one toy at a time rule

@kmally, You are totally right! I need to get a bin so he can play with some toys in the living room and doesn't have to be isolated in the room alone playing!

@sarabrewer04, I've tried that then he try's anew luck more and more toys in the living room and I feel bad that he has to sneak but I'm in the nesting phase of my pregnancy and want everything put away ! Ugh
