Do I have to have a pediatrician before my baby is born?

The hospital I delivered would just assign you one if you hadn't picked one when you came in to deliver

i took my baby to the pediatrician i had as a child 😊 he is very good. you really dont have to stress it. it really depends how far i are from the hospital. you can choose one closeby or let the same hospital u give birth assign one there. u can also call ur insurance and have them give u a list

I recommend it! You can do a consultation, usually at no cost. Ask questions and get to know him or her. You'll need to take baby to a checkup appointment a day or two after going home so you may want to have one chosen. I did it with my daughter and now with this baby. Makes everything easier plus you get to choose-you don't wanna be assigned someone you don't like!

no but right after baby is born before you can take her or him home

I have heard that if you have a pediatrician picked out before the baby is born he will usually come to the hospital for circumcision and a check too. :)
