Is anyone here on the Makeena injectoion? My midwife wants me to begin it at my next appt. and to begin getting them once per week to ward off early labor like I had with my third child, but after reading up on the potential sode effects such as blood clots and depression, I am weary of getting them. My mom told me not to, my husband told me not to, but the midwife and nurses are telling me to. I don't know what to do.

do not let your nurse or midwife force you or your decision. you have the right to refuse and honestly, I would listen to your mother out of all ppl. Our mother's have had us without all these new medications that are trying to be forced on us now.

Thank you for your comment. You're right! My mom and I were just talking about that the other day, actually. It was actually in reference to foods that pregnant women can't eat. She was saying how when she had babies, she ate whatever the heck she wanted to and all of her kids were perfectly healthy. Now, we are so limited! And the medicine thing...I feel like they force too many medications on us now too. I guess I will think about it a bit more and decide before October 2nd.

@sarahemccormick, I just finished taking that shot a week and a half ago and was on it from16 to 36 weeks. It helped me because my last son was born preterm and I had a high risk of this one doing the same. It is a pain to have to get it every week but I had no side affects and I thought it had more pros for me than cons. Good luck on your decision!
