no I had it when they induce me with my first baby. it is like a little pill they insert into you.

What does it do cause they said the next day I get pitocin @andream35

it softens the cervix to help you with dilation.

it doesn't hurt. it's to help soften the cervix and to help with dilation. good luck momma!!!

it's like a walk in the park and when they start the Pitocin tomorrow you will be ready in no time.

the pitocin doesn't hurt either. they'll start out with a low does and increase it about every 1\2 hour or so

Then what causes the need for epidural @hillenburgm

the contractions will hurt once the pitocin kicks in

Pitocin makes the contractions harder and stronger than without it. That's why some women get an epidural when being induced with pitocin.
