My blood pressure got all the way up to 185/115. Had severe headaches & blurry vision along with severe swelling. I almost had a seizure that's how high my Bp got. My baby was 3 pounds at birth. He is now 5 pounds 10 ounces and 5 weeks old. Still in the nicu and doing well. He is having problems breathing and eating at the same time. But the nurses say that will come with time.
@cjsmommy, @katiesolger It makes me feel a little better knowing others have gone through this and the babies turn out fine. When they told me i would have to deliever earlir i completely freaked out. my blood pressure shot up to 180/88 and they admitted me than gave me some new meds that made it go down to 120/65. Im only 24 weeks now and get to keep baby in. But doctors think he will have to be born by 36weeks.
@calebsmommy, my dr told me the same thing. I was admitted into the hospital at 29 weeks. They told me I had to stay there until I delivered and they would let me go past 36 weeks cause it wasn't safe for me. They were able to stabilize mine with medicine but all the sudden over night it shot up. They weren't able to get it down so they induced me at 31 weeks. I know you're probably terrified because I was. But try to stay calm. Everything will be okay. I'm here if you need to talk about anything.
@katiesolger, Yes I am but Im trusting in God that he will fix it. I was born at 28 week only weighted 1pound 9oz and i made it so i know it possible. I just really want to enjoy having him growing inside of me
I'm sure he will. I prayed a lot when I was in the hospital. It helped me get thru it. It is very possible to have a healthy happy baby this early. And if he does come early he will be a fighter. All nicu babies are strong 😊😘 I really hope I get to bring my son home soon. I will praying for you so you can at least make it to 36 weeks 😊
No problem 😊 and thank you. He is a fighter for sure. They say to aim for his due date which isn't until October but I'm hopeful that it will be sooner then that.
My son was born at 36 weeks not due to high blood pressure but my placenta died so he couldn't stay in any longer. He was 100% healthy 5lbs exact and ZERO time in the NICU. If they know he is coming early they may give you a shot to develop him faster.
@calebsmommy, good I am glad they are preparing your baby! That's the best thing they can do! Praying you will be able to keep him in as long as possible!

it was 159/90 and it just got higher and higher. and he was good he came out breathing on his own weighed 4 pounds an stayed in NICU for 2 weeks

@hward12, Yes they gave me the steroids shots in my hips. Im only 24 weeks 5bdays now and baby is a week behind in his weight.
