hi moms and moms to be....any idea on what's on the WIC card? I'm so very curious! Thanx.
@oppy, they give you a brochure that tells you exactly what you can get and there are a few options for each category plus most stores have the bright pink stickers that tell you it's wic eligible and you just have to make sure it's on your list as well. most cashiers are pretty nice too if you get the wrong thing they will tell you and tell you what would be correct..like if it was a size issue or something
@kermi86, , is it a must I use it to get the listed food and not some thing else.....tho it goes a long way.
But I get a card, and a sheet of paper telling me how much I get of each item, and it's already preloaded in the card at the beginning of every month.
When you're pregnant you get: milk, cheese, bread, cereal, eggs, beans and/or peanut butter, an amount of fruits and vegetables, and juice.. That amount you get depends on the size of your family.. When your baby is born they give you the same stuff is your nursing and if your formula feeding they give you formula, baby cereal, and baby food. @oppy @k.haotic it's very helpful.
I get 10$ of fruit or vegetables frozen or fresh, like 4.75 gallons of milk, beans, peanut butter, bread, 2 boxes of cereal, cheese, eggs.. Maybe a couple things im forgetting.
Usually is not a card it's checks for fruits, vegetables, juice and peanut butter, eggs and cheese
They are like little checks, and each check has a specific amount of things you can get and what you can get. It comes in handy, it gives a lot of milk.
your wic provider will give you a brochure on what you can get and how much you get.
Thanx so much for the info. ..@kermi86, , I'm gonna put up for it tomorrow. ...
