Yes you can do both . I did both with my daughters .

How did you do it, was it a certain time a day you gave formula and breast milk or what? Did you breastfeed during the day ans used formula at night? @elenaj

I breastfed at night . It's easier to pop your boob out and feed baby . During day if dad had her , I would formula feed . But I also breastfed during day to the point where i would have extra cans of formula left . It's up to you , however you feel comfortable feeding baby .
