Tuesday is my 40 week mw appointment and I'm supposed to be offered a sweep and have a discussion…

Did she say anything to you at your last appointment as your normally told about a sweep before hand? I was with my first. I have to go to hospital to get my induction date if I go overdue (I did with my first) so doubt the midwife would be able to give you that information but could be different where you live @enilyandbump xx

well like it says in the book, it says I will b offered a sweep and even if I have to wait til Thursday I will. I wasn't spoken to about it at my last appointment. it just seems like if we are gonna have the appointment that is said to happen in the book, we actually have to tell the midwife ourselves! it's ridiculous! @emmyrxox. my mum is comming with me though as my boyfriend has college so hopefully something will be done as when my mum mentions something it usually happens

The midwife can only offer a sweep and usually schedule you to come back another day (due to time restraints) after the sweep she will set up another appointment unless you go into labour , to then discuss induction or second sweep. Which can then take one to two days

the mw only goes to my surgery on Tuesday's, and then I would have another appointment the week after to which I would then be 40 weeks 5days. even if I had to go to the hospital to have it done of rather do that then wait another week. @tiasohi1

They never stick to the books. All you can do is mention it and hope for the best. I was lucky with my midi wife as she did what is said in the books. Sweeps don't always work though😔 mine didn't with my first as my cervix was too high up to reach and I wasn't even dilating so I was so upset! My fingers are crossed for you Hun as i know how much you want your little one here now! Defiantly don't go away without having one if that's one you want cause you shouldn't refuse you when you are literally days off your your due date! I had mine at around 38 weeks with my first! @emilyb_c xx

with my first i saw midwife at 39 weeks 2 days and she wouldnt do sweep and booked me to see her 40 weeks 2 days so had it then

She may refer you to another midwife at the hospital is she feels you need one but they 'prefer' you to do things naturally until the last minute x

thanks for all your comments it's been so helpful. and I'd just prefer to get her out now really. like I'm roughly 5ft maybe just under and she was roughly 6lbs 9 at the last scan (I know its a rough estimate tho so she could be bigger or smaller) but because of my size and stuff I don't want it to be to hard to get her out as I would prefer not to have a c-section. now I'm finding it so hard to wash myself properly because of my belly and stuff and now I'm even struggling to wipe after going to the toilet, I would say that's a problem. plus I'm not feeling hungry anymore because of my stomach being squashed so I'm not getting the nutrients etc which is then passed on to her. gonna talk to the midwife about it Tuesday though and just hoping I can at least get a sweep done soon. @tiasohi1 @mumof2ttc3 @emmyrxox

blees you i know that struggle im 5ft0 and had 1 boy 7 pound 1 and 1 boy 6 pound 8 and i felt so rough end of pregnancys trust me after babys here you forget all about it! i have a 2 year old and a 4 month old and already thinking about no.3 lol good luck with everything xx

I'm 5'1 and they told me at a scan she was 6lb 8oz ... She come out 5lb!!! Lol x
