The closer I get to my due date the more I am thinking I want to have a 100% natural birth. I tend to have a pretty high tolerance for pain and I want to be able to bounce back as quickly as possible after labor. I am one of those people who just seems to have bad reactions to medications so I don't want to risk it. I also want to try to deny the fluid iv so that I am more mobile. If you have had a natural childbirth please let me know how it went. Also, please let me know if you have ever declined the standard fluid iv.

ive had csection, 2 natural...had iv with 2nd came out quickly maybe 4 to 6 hours after...3rd no time for during..had to have for a while once everything settled...wasnt a biggy and i was mobile...think u just have to pee first then dr will ok removal...

I was talking to my mom about a natural birth and had the same question about the IV, she said to talk to your doctor about a hep lock, basically where they put the thing in your hand, but tape it off and don't actually attach the IV, but still have the ability to if need be. It helps you stay mobile for as long as possible

I'm a first time mom I was against any drugs. My little lady was born two weeks ago. I had her all natural. Went into labor and delivery and was 5 cm. the nurse n even my doctor said I was doing a good job since this was my first time around. My contractions stayed between a 6-7 even when it was time to push. I had a great nurse, doctor, and my child's father for support. To me I just felt a lot of pressure on my butt felt like if I pushed it would bust open but it's just the baby. If I could do it again I wouldn't do it any different. I say stick with what you want since I found out I was pregnant I said no meds from the start and I stuck to it. You have to prepare yourself mentally.

When I gave birth to my son... I did have IV fluids but no meds and the contractions were unpleasant as hell but giving birth was a breeze and I will do the same with my daughter which is due Dec7

If you can make it past the contractions the actual delivery will be like a piece of cake. I was going to get an epidural but didn't have time so eve's up doing all natural, and actually I'm kinda of glad. I was able to move right away and as soon as I had her it was instant relief
