32 weeks and was told today the umbilical cord is around his neck anyone been through this?

I've heard of this happening. It sounds absolutely horrible and it can be, but it most cases during delivery as soon as his/her head crowns and then comes out they work the umbilical cord from around the neck and then everything progresses as normal. They have so much fluid and the umbilical cord has a natural coating on it that's insanely slippery while their in the womb that it doesn't become tight on them

@dianne0825, don't overly worry yourself, but next opportunity you get I would ask them more about it and see what they say needs to be done when it's time to deliver or if you are getting a c-section. I wouldn't think so because it's a fairly common thing, babies even get their cord wrapped around their arm, legs etc

Dr mentioned c-section today saying he's unsure if natural is even possible now @ftmbabyboy11

Didn't even find out cord was around the baby neck until delivery via c section my bf told me they unwrapped it it was wrapped twice! Probably why she came a week early. Docs never mentioned it to me her dad told me when we were talking about the delivery but when my niece was born 17 years ago hers was wrapped and she was in distress with every attempt to push so she was delivered by emergency C section. I'm sure they will just monitor u more and if anything changes they will prepare for delivery

Has nothing to do with either of you the baby gets to having too much fun in there and gets tangled up in the cord sometimes they untangle themselves sometimes they don't the great thing is they are aware so will prepare for whTever measures are needed. I'm nervous that had my waster not broke would my baby even be breathing by what was to be her due date and I was going twice a week to be monitored and get ultrasounds and they didn't notice the cord the day before my water broke! So at least the docs are on it try not to worry so much just pay attention to the baby's movements of they change

he blames himself because nothing was said by the ultrasound tech but he said that something seemed off on the ultrasound and now that we know this he feels like he jinxed it somehow @ginag918 and geeeez that's scary!!
