? what makes a female or male a single parent? I am asking this because when i found out I was pregnant someone aaked me was I ready to be a single parent. Just because me and father of my child may not be on good terms he is still in the picture. So at this point I dont consider myself a single parent even though he not pulling his weight.

a single parent is anyone who basically does things on their own, you're a single parent if the daddy isn't a constant thing ( day and night, with the exception on work)

imo, when the other parent is not in the picture at all. if you're not on good terms, broken up, etc but the other person still is around for the child(ren) then, to me, it's still co-parenting.

Wow that was rude smh. And I guess it depends on the person. A single parent can mean that you are totally doing everything on your own but it can also mean a Single Parent. But I believe the majority of people will say when the other person is no where in sight
