I hate to bring this up because a lot of people look down on it, but a raw diet is the best way to help dogs with allergies, sometimes even a grain free high quality kibble can help but raw is truly the best. If you're interested in reason more and seeing how a raw diet has helped so many animals, you can join the raw feeding community on Facebook, there's a group and a page, the group has all the info, there's also rfc pet chat where you can post questions about things not related to a raw diet, but I really suggest checking it out. My dogs don't have allergies but they are SO much healthier after switching :)

Really!!! I would honestly do anything to help him! I have been trying everything since he was 4 months old and stated to break out! Now here it is 2 years later and out of control. It's so sad and pitiful to see him suffer like this. I don't have fb but I will do some research! Thank you so much, I have never heard of it! @allisongrace

I know they have special dog food for dogs with skin allergies, my sisters dog used to have them really bad.

There's a website, I think it's therawfeedingcommunity.com and whatever you do, definitely research science diet (the vets foods) if they suggest it, I've heard a lot of bad things about it including developing kidney stones and other kidney and bladder issues along with others, and some dogs even develop allergies after being fixed. I know a pregnancy app isn't the best place for this but I do suggest looking for the website, i have a shihtzu that would hardly eat was thin and no matter how much I brushed him his coat was always terrible an matted, I shaved him the day after I first introduced him to a raw diet in January and up until 3 weeks ago I didn't even brush him and he didn't have mats and his coat was shiny and healthy, but it's hot so I shaved him again..lol. He wouldn't eat any kibble we tried but when I started him on raw he ate everything I gave him and he gained a healthy amount of weight and muscle. He also had really bad yeast infections and the raw cleared it up :) I've also heard a lot of the "feeding raw meat will give them worms/make them aggressive" which neither are true, neither is them going to get salmonella from it, they have an actual lessened chance of getting salmonella with a raw diet than with kibble :) I have two other dogs on a mix of high quality kibble and raw, a 7 month old boxer mix that I started on it at 7 weeks, and she has grown healthy and lean and has the shiniest healthiest coat I've ever seen even though her parents and siblings all had scrappy coats and most have terrible allergies (the reason I started her so young) I also have a 6 year old American Staffordshire terrier mix that I started on raw back in June/July, he was terribly overweight because he would eat anything and everything you put in front of him, since not offering him anything but high quality kibble and raw he's lost weight and gotten so much energy, I was a little iffy at first but it was the only option I had left for my 7 year old shihtzu that was literally starving himself, and I'm so glad I started it, it's the best thing I could have ever done for these 3 :)

If you buy it prepared then it can get pretty pricey, if you do it yourself (a lot like preparing food for yourself) which is what I do, I spent a little over $10 on last months food but I did get a pretty good deal on the main amount and I buy it at the most expensive place..grocery stores! I have a bravo near me that had 10# of chicken leg quarters for $2.90 and got two bags, which lasted me about 1/2 way through the month, and got chicken liver at $.99/pound. Price really depends on how you do it and what sources you have. I would kill to have hunters or butchers in the area to get scraps from but haven't found any yet

If your dog ever eats them it's from prey drive not what you feed them :) there's many others that even breed animals on their farms to supply their dogs meals, even a time that a rabbit got into the sheep pen and one of their dogs that protects the sheep killed the rabbit protecting the sheep (yes scary rabbit lol) and they just froze the rabbit to feed at a later date and it never made the dog aggressive towards rabbits even though it was one that it killed, and it only killed because that was its job was to keep other animals out of the sheep pen (which I'm sure you understand lol) I'm not sure if therawfeedingcommunity.com is a forum like the group that people post questions and have conversations but that's why I love the Facebook group so much, I love hearing all the stories :)
