Im 6 weeks pregnent and i've just eaten this caramalized pork belly dish and only just realized now that aniseed was an ingredient in the dish about 2 or 3 pieces used at the beginning of making the broth then sugar and water and the meat gets added and stirred. Im extremely worried now because i read that aniseed isnt good for you when youre pregnent im worried that it may make me miscarraige this is my first pregnancy and im very worried and anxious now and this food is an asian dish in particular in Cambodian its called "Kor" if anyone can please help me im extremely nervous and worried about this issue.

I did some reading on herbs and spices in my early pregnancy and the only way for most things to be harmful is to consume medicinal quantities of it. I was causing myself great pains (literally) from having garlic horseradish tablets to ease the stuffiness in first trimester. I've stopped taking those but it hasn't stopped me from putting lots of garlic in my pasta :) You'll be fine I'm sure. Think of all the hippy mums drinking chai with anise in it :)

I think you'll be fine! I've eaten the wrong thing a couple of times by accident :)
