Let's do a vote on birth control: What best worked for you, without a whole lot of side effects?

It's hard to say about the side effects because of how birth control affects everyone differently.

I was on the mini pill before I got pregnant, but I got pregnant while on it. Now I have the arm implant and I love it. My periods are barely even periods, it's spotting for a day or two and then it's over with. Everybody has different experiences with every birth control though, so keep that in mind! Don't let anybody talk you out of one. Do your own research before you decide!

I love the depo shot. I never had any side effects from it and I never got a period.

@valerie_jean did it hurt when they put the arm implant? I had the iud before coming out pregnant but I removed it because I would get horrible sharp pains and my perids went crazy..

I had the implant for three years, I loved it I barely got any periods! But BC affects people in different ways

Nope they numb your arm and then numb it even further when you can't feel your arm. It just slides right in. It's good for 3 years.

I say no to the depo. Some people can't ever get pregnant again once they've had it, and if they do it usually results in a miscarriage or ectopic, which is why I'm super nervous because I was on it.

I am on my second pregnancy post depo. However I have major calcium deficiency and borderline osteoporosis because of it. I was on it for 3 years a long time ago. The pill was the best route for me as long as I remember to take them lol
