I've got two cartilage piercings. I got it done 5 years ago. They've never irritated my ear! except like the first 6 months after having it done. But now they are really starting to irritate my ear! I don't know if it is because the other week I hit my ear on something hard ( it really hurt and my ear was sore for a few days) or if it is pregnancy related. I am allergic to Nickel so all of my earings have to be Gold or Silver. I've had the same earings in for about 4 years now. I only take them out when I have a shower to clean my ears. Other than that...they stay in 24/7. 😢😢😶😶

I think it's pregnancy related. it's like my wedding band and engagement ring. I always take them off at night. but for the last few weeks if im out all day by the time on get back my finger is really sore. I read somewhere that it dose happen.

If they get that bad you may have to take them out but they shouldn't heal up and you'd be able to put them back in after having baby. I can't wear any earrings while I'm pregnant which a bummer. My ear feels so bruised and swollen! It's horrible.

yeah my earrings have been irritating my ears for the past few months too. another side effect of pregnancy lol

someone said If you put clear nail polish on it it will prevent any irritation. I've not tried it myself
