I would rather have him try to find a cousin or friend to stay the night with him.. All he does is sleep with his mom when she has him.. (His son)

u mean sleep with him in the bed? or kid only sleeps over sometimes and he feels bad not sleeping together with him?

similar situation here... stepson is 7.. however we split everything including time spent with his son... 15 days out of the month her and 15 with us. kid has his own room and learned at age 5 to start sleeping on his own (cause that's when we got married ) my husband always slept with him when I wasn't around. IT WAS A PAIN GETTING HIM TO DO it on his own. it took 6 LOOOONg months of waking up every other night cause he was scared and crying. but we did it and didn't give up either. HOWEVER. .. I'm 38 weeks now and there are times including once this week where the kid wants a "sleepover" is what we call it. ..which he "earns ". and I don't mind my husband going with him to his bed. "not mine ofcourse" they have to respect the parental bedroom.

anyway. .. myhusband always included me. itwas up to me if i wantedto go with them. but it's something to speak about with your partner. yes it's his son but you are his partner. there has to be balance and over all respect. and my hubby always made it known to the kid that mom and dad sleep together because that's just how it is. in no way would I allow being kicked out or having the child sleep in our bed replacing me. especially at this age. don't you dare leave the room! lol that's your private space. if anything have them do their sleepovers in the living room. sorry for the essay!
