if the lunch meat says its cooked can you eat it? or no

All lunch meat is cooked... You're not just eating a raw turkey/ham/whatever lol. You're still supposed to heat it up.

That's gross to me though-heating it up.. So I get nitrate free meat and only eat it occasionally.

Always reheat it until it's steaming. If you don't like it warm, heat it up and then stick it in the fridge for a couple minutes. All deli type meats are cooked.
