last appointment with my Dr today (8/24/2015) because I plan on canceling my Texas medicaid as of 8/31/2015 maybe wait until 9/7/2015, I know they send you a letter saying as of blah blah day your medicaid is canceled and you choose the day I just don't know what day to choose because the army comes to pack our things on 9/9/2015 to have it shipped to Alabama to be put in storage until 90 days or until we have an official time to get it out
now we have an apartment set up there but until it's set in stone like lease papers in hand i was told i can put my fiancés parents address until we have everything squared away with Alabama medicaid unless the apartment is officially assigned and ready (same county just want to put everything down and not change it a million times)
I just don't want to go without coverage for me or the baby
sooooo will it be possible to have coverage through Texas living in Alabama until Alabama medicaid kicks in because I was told it takes 4-6 weeks to get approved im due 10/24/2015 so idk when to have the cancelation date for Texas medicaid as or will Alabama back date it to cover when the final day Texas medicaid is covered by as of the day I choose and go from there,
is this making any sense or am I confusing everybody?????

That process is ganna be HELL. I just went 3 months without insurance or a doctor appointment because the stupid freaking government systems take 30 days for address change and no telling how long they wanna take to mail it!

ok so if I set my Texas medicaid to be canceled as of 9/7/2015 since we have to be here for the army to pack us up on 9/9/2015 Alabama will back date their coverage when it gets approved and start to cover as of 9/8/2015 or roughly around there?

and @doodiemo I was told to call 211 which is the fast way to contact Texas medicaid directory and give them all the info about why I'm moving (fiancé family problems and we need to get there soon) have them send the letter about cancelation to my fiancés parents house in Alabama so its there when I get there since it could take a lengthy time

oh and I had Alabama send me the paperwork for Alabama medicaid already just gotta fill it out and take it in when i get to the county to start the process once we get there

It looks like you said one will cancel and the next day Alabama will set in? It will definitely not happen within even a week. I kept calling saying "I'm having complications and having to go to the hospital and I don't have insurance yet and it's been two months already" and they would just apologize saying there is nothing they can do because it's their system and not actual people doing it. So even if I was on the verge of losing my baby and they said sorry, I don't know what "fiancé problems" will get you. 😔

Can't transfer. It's a different state, they have different providers for different counties
