Yes they numb your back but you still feel it . One of the nurses was holding me while she put it in.

It was simple it didn't hurt . My legs were numb though they felt dead

Mine didn't hurt at all. A nurse stood in front of me to hold me up while the anesthesiologist stood behind me, putting it in. It just felt like he was pushing hard against my back. The real horror was the numb legs after that were impossible to move!!

The numbing medicine stings like a bee sting for a little bit then there's the pressure of the needle that's it. It's nothing. Don't over think it. A piece of cake!

I didn't feel anything going into my back because my contractions were hurting like hell they usually say tell me when your having an contraction then they will put it in so , it can get your mind away from the needle that's going to go in your back .
