I believe you can ask for an extension if you have a Dr's note saying it's because of something medical like let's say you were to have a C-section, or your baby ends up in the NICU. You would need like an extra week or so. I mean, I understand it's your job and all, but your baby needs you too. I totally get where you're coming from.

you don't need FMLA to get time off like the other comment said. when you have your doctor fill out your leave papers, tell her you want 12weeks, and you'll get it. it just won't be pay.

Thank you so much ladies I honestly appreciate it I'm a FTM so I don't want to leave my baby at all but I know I still have to make money but my hubby doesn't want me to work at all I just know we can't afford the things we need or want with just his income... Well we probably could but honestly im just scared & not use to not making my own money

My job allows me to take a year off without pay of course. I'm thinking of taking 6 months off.. My baby is more important than my job. I could always find another job if they don't have a position for me when I'm ready to come back.
