say if they do joint custody, they will make you have the baby a week and him every weekend or every other weekend or it could be different, you could get a week and he could get a week. it just depends on the judge and how you two broke it off. if he cheated you will get full custody because they will see him neglecting your baby. it really just depends.

We shared equal time until I had to move into a studio and all of my paycheck had to go to bills and rent. In her best interest he agreed to temporarily take her full time (well his parents agreed, since it isn't his house) until I could make more and be able to provide for her again. Now he is filing for joint custody while I am unemployed, but living with my fiancé in a two bedroom on his income. Our plan was to take her back again but if I have to pay all these bills from court I won't be able to afford to care for her still.

he would have to pay if he's taking you. you don't have to pay a dime unless he files for child support. but if you are making enough money with your fiance to provide for her and keep a roof over her head you should be okay. if he doesn't have a house to himself and living with parent without a job you will get full custody and he will only see her on certain days.

He has a job but I don't. Would he even be able to get child support from me if I'm unemployed? @raleighsmommy
