How many ultrasounds will I have? I had my first one at 7 weeks to check if I was pregnant and now…

Should be close to 12 weeks. Then every 4 weeks until you get close to end of third trimester, then you go more often. At least that's what my schedule is!

most likely your anatomy/gender one. between 15w and 21w (it varies) also depends on your insurance, doctors office and if you're high risk or not

depends they told me only 2. the 9 week & 20 to make sure everything was good and the gender. this time its different because they dont know how far am i so id have like 3. && if your high risk or a complication youd have more

It really depends on a few factors. If you're not high risk for any reason and if your doctor is reasonable about the potential risks, then you will often only have 2 ultrasounds. #1 to confirm pregnancy and check that everything is how it should be and then #2 between 18-20 weeks to check growth, etc. as well as reveal the gender if you wish. That's all you really need. The science is too up in the air right now about the longterm safety of ultrasounds- you shouldn't get them unless you absolutely need them until we know more.

@_akgirl, my insurance is very good, I use The Seminole Tribe of Florida and they cover any type of medical, educational, ect costs. The reason I'm asking is because my doctor hasn't mentioned it yet, I'm about to be 11 weeks and have a doctors appointment this Thursday so I wasn't sure if that would be an ultrasound or not

Remember: ultrasounds for pregnancy are fairly new. They weren't used until the 80s-90s. All those people beforehand have had babies successfully without them. We are just a spoiled generation!

I've had 3 so far. Next one again next week. It all depends on your dr.
