Has anyone used a pacifier for baby and weaned them off of it? My daughter will be 4mo on the 21st and she can't stay asleep without it π
Details please!
@arielle, oh yes that is totally understandable. That hurtful cry can make us mommies go crazy lol maybe just try giving it to her less and less when she cries for it like try other types of things that might soothe her so in time she won't cry for her paci. π
@sam1979, dang momma π I'm sorry to hear that. My daughter very briefly slept In our bed because she's only sleep on our chests then I put her next to me. But that was only a few times and she sleeps in her crib just fine. I wish I had some advice for you! Have you researched how to get her to sleep on her own?
Yes my daughter cries are horrible that is why she is still in our bed. We got her off the pacifier and bottle but getting her out of our bed has been hard. She is 16 months and just screams bloody murder when put in her crib. I am due with baby 3 in any day now I have no idea what we are going to do.
@reaganmommy2015, @sam1979 @jennatess @mrs.blackmon @camillesmom @renaldoswife wow how awesome. I'm scared to just stop giving it to her cold turkey because her cry gets serious and makes me sad π I'll have to talk to my husband and see what we agree on. Thanks so much ladies!
I honestly didn't have a problem weaning both my girls off of the pacifier. I think by the time both of them were 3 months they didn't use one. I think I had bought so many of the soothies pacifiers by the time I couldn't find the last one I just stopped giving it to them and they never cried for it again lol
Now since birth though she uses her tongue as a paci. And will suck her tongue to soothe herself. And that's how I know she's toured when she starts doing that
My daughter took one at first until I got tired waking up to put it back in her mouth every 30 min. And then I could get any sleep cause she was using me as a paci (I'm breastfeeding) so I tried giving it back and she refused it. so she's almost 10 months and only used a paci for maybe about 2 month
My son couldn't do anything without his. he was always wanting to suck on something which is why we gave it to him. then one day... he was 9 months old I started giving it to him only when he slept. and putting it somewhere he couldn't get it during the day. then after like a month of that I threw them all away. it was hard for both of us. but it's better now. he hasn't had it for a month.
No. BUT, I just read today that a good way to do it, is have a "Goodbye Paci Party.". You throw a little party, and tell your daughter/son that the Paci Fairy will be coming by tonight, and it's time to leave the Paci behind - that other little boys & girls need one, and that they are too old to have one. You leave the Paci out when it's time for bed and the 'party' is over, and replace it with a new doll, teddy, or toy. Maybe worth a shot? My daughter is only three weeks and I'm already thinking it's going to be difficult to wean her off of it. Haha.
My daughter would only take one and we lost that one about 6 months. She cried about 3 days and that was it. Same thing with bottle took about 3 to 4 days and she was good. Just a rough 3 days.
