Went for my elective ultrasound Saturday and the sonographer noticed more than normal amniotic fluid (a little more than 1.6 cm over), she said it may be a sign of gestational diabetes. Ugh
Anyone else have excess fluid and not have GD? I am hoping the dr move my glucose test to my next appointment as opposed to waiting another 4 weeks

I had 3 times the regular amount of fluid. I had to go to a specialist to figure out why I had so much, but they never found anything and my baby came out perfectly healthy. The only different thing was my pregnancy was like a movie where I was getting into bed and my water broke and poured out everywhere! I leaked the entire time I was in labor. I was getting my epidural and told the nurse I was leaking and the anesthesiologist and nurse laughed and said that happens to everyone and then the nurse looked down and it was all over her shoe!! Haha

@tierlarie, thanks.. that's a little relief for me until I take my glucose test. And lord let's hope when the time comes my breaking of waters isn't showered ON others lol

Haha yes I was slightly embarrassed but I guess thats just a part of giving birth sometimes! I am hoping your glucose test comes back normal!!

@babyhawkins2015, I had extra amniotic fluid as well. I didn't have GD but extra amniotic fluid runs in my family. All of us that have had children measured bigger because of it. I went into labor at 40 weeks but measured 43 weeks. My son was perfectly healthy when he came out.
