Open up the pads but don't remove them from the plastic. Open the wings too but leave the plastic attached to one side. Per pad: Pour on 1-2 tablespoons of witch hazel. Add about 3 drops of therapeutic grade lavender essential oil. Then put a good amount of aloe on top and spread it around the pad. Put the wings back in place (you can use pads without wings too obviously!!) and then fold it back up. Place the pads in a plastic ziploc and put them in the freezer. Then after your vaginal birth, take one pad out at a time as you need them to help sooth your sore/swollen vagina! Voila 😄👍🏼 @bsummers

If you're birthing at a hospital, they usually have perineal ice pack pads- those were awesome for after I had my son 3 years ago!! But since I'm doing a home birth, these will certainly come in handy!

Oh those ice packs were my best friends. I asked for more to take home, I just hated they got warm so quickly @mrsgooch
