So, I don't know if you girlies know about this :) :) But where I live if you fall pregnant at age 19 and under you get the option of having a family nurse :) I'm seeing mine today, the second time meeting her. She's lovely! She just supports you! She is in contact with my midwife :) She will also do antenatal check ups :) Any concerns she has she will pass on to my midwife. She will also replace the health visitor :) So, I should be seeing her every week.

I got offered something like that. but she would have been there to help teach me stuff. I ended up deciding not to have a family nurse and just my midwife and health visitor. I felt the family nurse was way to invasive. she kept trying to get meetings to be at my house when it just wasn't possible with my mum decorating and stuff, plus I hated how often I would be seeing her, it was just way to often, and I felt like she was trying to get me to agree to stuff I wasnt sure on or didn't want to agree with. I'm just sticking with my health visitor for after baby is born. I just felt like having the family nurse there as well was just to much. I want to be able to learn things myself instead of have people teach me, but know if I need help it will be there.

Awe, I understand how you feel. I want to learn things myself also. But I like having someone other than my family members to talk to. My one is lovely and not invasive at all :) She seems to understand me so well already! :)

I couldn't agree more @emilyandbump I got offered this and turned down after my friend agreed to it and said that she is always round her househelping her and i felt as if they interfere too much for my liking and like to learn and do things on my own. I said to the midwife that I have everyone I need and don't want a stranger Involved. However my friend said she enjoys having a family nurse. Think it's just down to personal opinion but good luck! Hope all goes well with her xx
