Okayy sooo, my boss made me go on maternity leave, I didn't choose to do so. He promised me that he was going to pay me my last pay check in full. Well I just picked it up and I was only paid for 40 hrs.... which is only half my check. I said something to boss man about it and he says he didn't remember saying any such thing . I have no idea what to do. I really needed the extra $$$ . My mother in law is saying that I need to get to dig into this a little more, maybe a possible law suit. what do you ladies think ?

I would talk to someone. I'm not sure how your employer can make you go on maternity leave. It's usually the doctor that takes you off work. Good Luck! Hopefully someone can provide you with answers

Good luck. I had to go out of work early because of complications and my boss said he had to terminate me. I was there over a year and qualified for FMLA. So I cakled Human Resources and they fixed it for me. I would definitely call someone from human resources.

Does your family have an attorney or lawyer? I would definitely call one and set up an appointment. Explain the situation and they can give you the best advise. I'd do something though!

And they can't force you to go on maternity leave? Especially only at 33 weeks. I'd definitely say something!!
