They clean the baby up. Stitch you up IF you ripped or were cut. Then yes you have to stay overnight. If you and baby are all good then typically just one night. They run tests on the baby to make sure hearing and all that are good. Then you go home.

after u have the baby they pull the the plecenta out and I got 7 stitches they then give u ur baby and let u feed it. my son had to be taken to the nursery due to low blood sugar and couldn't maintain his own body temp he was a preemie, they then feed u lunch and have u go to the bathroom so they can show u how to take care of yourself down there and then they move u to a actual room. I had to stay 4 days in the hospital cause of other issues after I gave birth and to make sure my son was stable enough to come.home.

Usually the clean the baby up do all the necessary tests for the baby. If you ripped or were cut they will stitch you up and usually they admit you and massage your belly to try and get it smaller so you won't look very pregnant sometimes they try and send you home that night but if you don't want to go home yet cause your in pain they will let you stay anywhere from 1-3 days depending on if you had the baby natural or csection
