If you have no medical issues with your pregnancy I wouldn't try to get induced. Every day in the womb is important to your baby's growth and health. All in all it's up to you but I'd try to wait it out if you can momma.

Your not being selfish but imo when you induce labor 'can' be harder and longer. I would just let her tell you when she is ready good luck.....

My blood pressure was high and I had protein in my urine so my doctor was talking about inducing me but then at my last appointment I had only a trace of protein left and my blood pressure was a lot better so she said I could still be induced at 39 weeks if I wanted or I could just wait it out. I am leaning more towards waiting unless something comes up again where my doctor says otherwise. I'm just so ready to meet my baby girl, but her health is most important! @chhaya

You're not selfish and don't let anyone tell you so. Babies are considered full term at 37 weeks for a reason. Past that time, the baby is just gaining weight basically. I got induced and it was smooth sailing for me but the contractions were intense!!! It's all up to you when you feel YOU are ready. If you want to wait to see if she will come on her own, wait. If not, do it when you think you're ready.

I understand wanting to meet her! I had high protein in my urine the last couple months but nobody offered to induce me. Of course I didn't ask either but if it's cause by a UTI then you could go into labor anyways. If you can wait I would say you should (just my opinion, do what you feel is right for you though). Inducing does tend to make contractions more painful. I had pitocin and as soon as it kicked in my contractions seemed like they were on steroids. But everyone is different.

All in all it's your choice.

They finally induced my with my first one at 42 weeks pregnant! This one I'm doing a scheduled c-section and I'm like you super anxious!

How far along were you when you got induced @valerie_jean? And were you dilated any when they induced you?

I was 39 weeks and 2 days to be exact lol. I was dilated 3cm and 60% effaced when I got induced. My doctors were having a hard time finding my sons heart beat and when they did it kept lowering or tampering off so the very next day I got induced. @princess_aalaya @raelynnsmommy

The last time they checked me at 37 weeks I wasn't dilated at all :/ I'm afraid it will make it harder if I'm induced and haven't dilated any beforehand. Idk how all that works. Lol. @valerie_jean

They will check you before they start induction and depending if you're dilated or not or how far, they may put medicine on your cervix first. And then start the pitocin later. Because I was already dilated I skipped the cervidil (medicine for the cervix) and started pitocin. They may or may not do it though I'm not sure. My sister was barely 1 cm dilated and they had her stay over night with the cervidil on her cervix and then started the pitocin in the morning. @raelynnsmommy
