Hey all, so my OB told me my iron was low and that I needed to start a supplement, but she didn't give me any other details than that. I know iron can make you nauseous, so is anyone else taking one that they can recommend and/or have any tips for taking it that minimize the nausea???

take them with food...that usually eases the nausea with taking meds for me

also try keeping a steady schedule as to when you take them as well..that usually helps

I have had extremely low levels :/ I suggest always taking your iron pill with a meal and orange juice. I normally take it for breakfast. I have to take a supplement twice a day plus my one a day with iron... I haven't had too many issues with any brand. Best of luck!

Well I'm farther along than you and my doctor prescribed me my iron pills. I don't feel nauseous I take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and wash it down with o.j. And I take my prenatal at night.

Try eating more foods that are high in iron and you wont have to take a pill. My iron levels were low but I started eating more high iron foods and im back to normal! :)

Thanks yall! Very helpful! Ordered some supplements today. I have to take synthroid first thing in the AM so I'll try to take the iron with some OJ at breakfast a half hour later. We'll see how that goes!
