Morning grievance...so i'm just shy of 32 weeks. I was a kidney donor 2 yrs ago. At the beginning of my pregnancy i had some high blood pressure issues so between that and the concern over me having one kidney, midwives felt uncomfortable seeing me and I was sent to a doctor. In the past 6 months, they have run every test on every organ and i've passed them all with flying colors. My BP has even regulated. They never had to put me on meds. My frustration is that they are still insisting on inducing me 2-3 weeks early, despite the fact that my BP has been great and I've had zero complications. I had my first son with a midwife and it was such a pleasant experience that even seeing a doctor this time around makes me sad but being forced to be induced for what seems like no good reason is making me really sad. They keep throwing out preeclampsia saying it's a concern if i go to term but again, my BP has been great. It was 122/79 in my appt yesterday. I'm just extremely frustrated to the point where i want a second opinion but being as far along as i am, i can't see me getting in to another doctor anytime soon. 😔

my doula said anytime u feel something is unnecessary , cuz alot of times it is , ask ..what is the medical reason for this ? then u can tell if it's really for u nd baby or if its for their own agenda

I would get a second opinion...and if that's not a possibility put your foot down! Say it's my baby & my body and I'm not comfortable being induced early. They went over the supposed risks with you so you are informed on their end...there's no reason to take baby early if your bp is great and you're otherwise healthy:(

don't be afraid to ask for a second opinion. It's your body, and your baby, and you shouldn't feel intimidated when you are only seeking the best interest of your baby and yourself. And big props to you on your organ donation. Such a selfless act shows what a great mother you're going to be!

Thanks ladies. Their reason for inducing me early initially was that they were afraid that the high blood pressure would start to affect my kidney. (Actually first they said my kidney was affecting my BP but all tests concluded my kidney is in great shape). Now they're saying that i "could" run the risk of preeclampsia due to my BP bit again, in the past 3-4 months, i have had zero issues with my BP and they're still pushing along with induction. I realize women get induced every day and if i felt it was necessary, i would have no problem meeting my little prince sooner but it simply feels unnecessary, like it has nothing at all to do with me or baby. I think the minute i mentioned being a kidney donor, they just started with the shenanigans, preying on my cautiousness. Le sigh. I'm going to look into a second opinion!
